Growing up skateboarding in the late 80’s, there were only a handful of skateboard companies. Probably one of the best known was Powell Peralta. Their videos, boards, wheels and clothing were highly sought after by skaters at the time.

The Powell Peralta skeleton ‘Ripper’ bursting through the TV screen at the start of each of their videos is burnt into my brain. It slowly ripped through fabric whilst laughing, similar to the lion roaring at the start of an MGM movie, but better, cooler, more vibrant, FUN!

This T-shirt signifies my respect to that image (originally drawn by V.C Johnson) replacing the torn fabric with my little blue guys.

These are individually screen printed (not heat transfer), here in Perth by Think Embroidery Custom Apparel on a black ascolour heavy weight 220 GSM 100% cotton pre-shrunk T shirt.
